The problem is Eric bischoff couldn't have done anything if Hulk Hogan decided he wanted to do something else. Because Hulk Hogan had creative control of his character. Hulk Hogan didn't need Eric bischoff's approval or Eric to go along with what Hulk said. The only thing Eric could do is try to convey to Hulk that it wasn't a good move. And it's always hulk's decision in WCW. Book is right I don't think he would have gotten another shot. Add Hulk should have recognized that and decided that he didn't need the belt that he was a big enough star without it. But there's nothing Eric could have done positive or negative in the situation he had no control over it. And I do know for years it looked like Vince Russo turned on Hogan and took his opportunity away. This is the first I've heard of this. And it is 20 something years later. But I think Booker is right that he should have gone on to be the champion. Hogan didn't need it he was already a legend in the business.

As far as Bitchoff I didn't like. But there are people I didn't like in Bitchoffs corner. Including how people did things. That's why we as fans love flair so much

Hulk Hogan was really unprofessional. I know it’s kind of an accepted fact at this point, but seriously look back at how many moments and careers of others he’s ruined over literally 4 decades. Moments those other workers will never get back.

Man, hogan is the guy that got Harlem heat pushed as the top tag team, that’s according to Booker and Stevie. If he hadn’t done that Booker, where would you have been at bash at the beach 2000? Would you even still be in wrestling? “Creative control was pulled”. Hogan was supposed to win the title according to Russo but he lied. That wasn’t creative control. That’s what russo told him and how he convinced hogan to be a jobber for a while. Book wanted to be world champion, but hogan had been jobbing to Vampiro, Kidman, Horace, Mike awesome etc because russo convinced him to lose to the lower card guys and they would do a comeback story with hogan taking the belt at bash at the beach. It’s not Hogan’s fault he was lied to Also, Hogan agreed to let Booker win the title and go home with another belt. then come back later and fight champion vs champion Book is calling hogan selfish, but realistically he’s only thinking about himself here. The reason hogan was jobbing to those low card guys was because he was promised this comeback in this storyline months before Booker was told anything. It was booked as hogan’s comeback night months before Booker was told he was going to champ. I get that book wants his moment but man, he comes across here as exactly what he’s accusing hogan of being. Why not even consider for a second that first hogan was booked by russo to lay down for sting then leave the company. Then russo never tried to bring him back. Then when he had to bring him back he convinced him to job to low card guys with a promise of a pay off of winning the title, but lied , but then tried to get him to lose to Jarrett that night cleanly (sorry book, you weren’t even involved oringinally at all) and then wanted hogan to go away permanently. Of course hogan didn’t go with that. He was being played. Russo was literally trying to ruin Higan’s character. Then when it didn’t go the way russo wanted he cut that promo, to even further damage Hogan’s reputation and then fired him. Put yourself in hogan’s shoes. A new boss comes in and does everything he can to devalue you and fire you. I’m disappointed in you Booker. You’re saying Eric should’ve known it was taken out of context. But listen to what you’re saying here? The same thing! Then you say what changed your opinion on Eric was seeing dark side of the ring. I’ve actually lost respect for you here. It wasn’t a coo…. I thought the plan all along was for Booker to win at the end but Hogan would come back at a later date and challenge Book to a match to decide who the “real” undisputed champion was. (Kinda like Shawn Michaels coming back to challenge Razor Ramon for WM 10) of course, whether Book would’ve been allowed to pin Hogan is a whole other story. Though I get that Russo was frustrated and somehow got Hogan to agree to that compromise To my knowledge, the only reason Hulk sued was because Russo went off script and insulted Hogan without clearing it with him first…everything else up to that point was a work, though i could be wrong.

Sting not winning clean at starrcade 97 the fingerpoke of doom etc alot of dumb decisions happened because of Hogan and Bischoff which wind up eventually killing WCW.

This is one of the reasons I’ve always had so much respect for you Booker T. You have such a grounded approach and because of that you come off very fair in your recollection of things. You don’t unnecessarily bury anybody and you don’t overly praise people who you don’t feel deserve it, it’s hard to find that kind of sincerity when it comes to these “shoot” style interviews.

Booker probably had the best WWE run of any WCW guy. But I still think it should have been more. I don't think he had Rock level charisma, but he was good enough to be the face of the company. He could definitely hang with Rock and Austin.

Looking at how WCW was it makes me see how much Hogan was holding that company back. Hogan wouldn’t drop the title for Sting, Booker or Bret and Bischoff wouldn’t push the matter or make excuses for him.
